Responsibilities
The Senior Consultant is expected have all or part of the following competencies.
'Strategy and Financial Risk'. This technical area will cover topics including:
-
- Responding to TCFD (via enhanced governance, strategy, risk management and metrics & targets)
- Financial assessment of transition risks/opportunities (driven by changing policies, technologies, markets and physical climate risks) using scenario analysis
- Climate strategy development and implementation planning
- Accessing ‘climate finance’ e.g. via green/climate bonds, EU taxonomy alignment
‘Decarbonisation’. This covers a really big part of what our community does, including: - GHG accounting: Scope 1 and 2 GHG inventories and Scope 3 assessments
- Product carbon footprinting
- Energy efficiency reviews and audits
- GHG emissions reduction planning, costed options analysis (using MAC curves)
- Advising on corporate sourcing of renewable energy e.g. via PPAs/self-generation
- Advising on carbon offsets and removals (including Nature Based Solutions etc)
- Setting carbon targets, including targets aligned with the Science-Based Targets Initiative
- Setting and implementing internal carbon price

Requirements
- Bachelor and/or Master degree in Occupational Climate change/Science or other Engineering Fields
- Engineering/Science or related experience within industry or consulting
- Experience in construction sectors advantageous.
- Proactive and fast learner, excellent communication skills and good team worker
- Excellent command of written and spoken English Fluent in Japanese and English is a must.
