Position Objective

The Associate Professional is responsible for advancing the delivery of high-quality project development support to Accredited Entities and National Designated Authorities/Focal Points (NDAs), especially in relation to the GCF Simplified Approval Process (SAP) and Enhancing Direct Access (EDA). The Associate Professional will also substantially contribute to the implementation of the Project Preparation Facility (PPF).

This involves providing substantive analytical inputs in the review and approval of SAP, EDA and PPF applications, develop knowledge products, support the origination of high-quality projects through the coordination of the deployment of technical assistance, trainings and regular feedback to the Accredited Entities, in particular Direct Access Entities (DAEs).

Duties and Responsibilities

Purpose

•    Provides substantive technical inputs and coordination support of specific SAP, EDA proposals and PPF operational processes, including submission, cross-divisional review and approval processes.

•    Coordinates the pipeline of SAP and EDA projects, including the management of the database and online submission system.

•    If needed, supports the establishment of legal agreement, organization of disbursement and monitoring and evaluation for approved proposals in collaboration with GCF’s Office of Portfolio Management and the Division of Mitigation and Adaptation and the Private Sector Facility.

Engagement

•    Coordinates and tracks deployment of technical assistance services to Accredited Entities and NDAs in relation to SAP, EDA and PPF, and, if necessary other types of GCF proposals.

•    Manages the SAP service account and related inquiries, further refinement of SAP dashboards in coordination with ICT, as well as contribute to preparation of Sap/EDA pipeline and portfolio reporting.

Delivery

•    Provides substantive inputs on SAP and EDA technical guidance publications, e-learnings, and communication materials, as well as contribute to knowledge management related to SAP and EDA.

•    Support as resources persons and as needed trainings and capacity building events and webinars.

Master’s degree in climate change, development/humanitarian policies, economics and or management, or related fields. 

•    2 years of relevant experience in climate finance, climate change project and policy implementation.

•    Experience with climate change financial institutions and relevant GCF policies is highly desirable.
