Purpose of Activity/Assignment:
 

The Public Partnership Consultant, under the direct supervision of the Public Partnership Specialist for Communication and Advocacy of UNICEF Tokyo, will offer technical, logistical, and communication support for the upcoming visit of the UNICEF Executive Director to Japan, along with relevant events during her stay.

To make the most of the significant visit, the Public Partnership Consultant will serve as a focal point for improving communication and donor recognition efforts at the Tokyo Office. This includes organizing events and meetings as well as facilitating active media outreach and social media engagement in Japan to reinforce UNICEF's position as the best partner of choice for children's rights.

The consultant will be responsible for facilitating various communication and advocacy aspects of UNICEF’s activities in Japan, focusing on meeting coordination, event management, media outreach, social media engagement, and internal communication-related tasks.

•    Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or another relevant technical field is required.
•    A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public affairs, resource mobilization, communications, external relations, partnership or other relevant area.
•    A minimum of five (5) years of international development and humanitarian assistance experience in the UN system.
•    Familiarity with donor visibility & recognition is required.
•    Experience in event management is required.
•    Knowledge of development issues, strategies, as well as political and governmental processes is an asset.

Positive performance record on drive for results and teamwork. Proven capacity to quickly absorb new information and techniques and work under tight deadlines.
