The incumbent will undertake the activities outlined below, in cooperation with various stakeholders including FAO units at headquarters and in decentralized offices, Government institutions, Prefectural governments, and non-state actors, including NGOs, private companies media, academia and research institutions.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor/evaluate activities aimed at strengthening partnership with the FAO Parliamentarian Friendship League in Japan, in coordination with the League Secretariat, Government counterparts and related offices within FAO;
• Coordinate with and provide support to HQ and other related offices for establishing and strengthening partnerships with the private sector, academia and civil society organizations;
• Coordinate various activities for FAO National Goodwill Ambassadors, prepare and disseminate relevant reports in cooperation with the other LOJ staff and stakeholders;
• Provide, in collaboration with the Liaison Officer, appropriate support to FAO units on matters pertaining to the supplementary budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially when private companies are involved;
• Coordinate LOJ’s contribution to activities related to the Nutrition for Growth (N4G) initiative towards the Tokyo Olympics 2020:
• Coordinate other activities or events pertaining to LOJ’s existing and potential partners: and,
• Prepare and issue press releases, and SNS in the area of partnership, Parliamentarian Friendship League in Japan, and National FAO Goodwill Ambassadors; and
• Perform any other relevant duties upon request.
