Under the supervision of the Technical Officer Innovation for Health Ageing team, the incumbent conducts research and provides policy analysis of issues pertaining to social and technological innovation for older adults, particularly in identifying lessons from and for Japan. The incumbent synthesizes lessons from Japanese contexts and institutions, for translating and applying externally to Japan, and helps communicate international lessons for Japan:
- Conduct implementation and policy analysis research to assess social and technological innovations for ageing issues, their use and impact, and potential for replication/scale up.
- Implement analytical methods/tools to support the assessment, monitoring and evaluation of health technologies, obstacles to greater use.
- Conduct policy analyses and reviews of Japanese initiatives for new models of community-based models of care and support for ageing populations, and interventions to support persons with dementia and their families.
- Carry out analysis of relevant public health policies.
- Prepare technical documents, user documentation, papers, and reports about concepts, interventions, products, approaches pertaining to ageing and innovation.

Desirable: Experience in WHO or other UN agencies. Experience in product development, social entrepreneurship.
