The Analyst has some or all of the following accountabilities and responsibilities:
Data Analysis
- Manipulate data and produce various reports, both planned and an ad hoc basis through systems such as SAP, Data warehouse, CAR or BPN as requested.
- Maintain and manage data in EBRD-specific applications (PMM, DTM, etc.) to ensure accuracy of Bank records.
- Participate in SBI eligibility determination, which may involve reviewing submission documents and applying EU SME eligibility criteria, follow-up with OLs and keeping the SME flagging system up to date.
- Participate in preparation of monthly meetings of the Portfolio Oversight Unit for the SBI Pillar 2&3 portfolios, which may involve reviewing and summarising reports submitted by the OLs, participating in project review discussions and summarising these discussions and participate in any possible follow-up.
- Contribute to SME F&D team’s reporting, including monthly ExCom reporting, quarterly Portfolio reporting.
- Monitor and report on achievement of the department’s Work Programme/Operational Plans/Scorecard, in order to provide an accurate snapshot of progress.
- Perform specific data-based analytical work to provide Managers with essential information for the production of reports, including, but not limited to internal documents to be submitted to the Bank’s committees (e.g. ExCom, OpsCom, SP Com, TC Com, BAAC, FOPC, Board).
- Prepare presentations and briefing notes for the team for speaking/meeting engagements.
- Undertake internet-based research on both a planned and an ad hoc basis and complete internal and external document searches, to provide Managers with essential information for the production of reports.
Resource Mobilisation / TC Administration
- Support to the senior colleagues in the engagement with bilateral and / or multilateral donors supporting the SBI, taking initiative in addressing and resolving donor-related issues.
- Actively participate to the management of all activities related to the Small Business Impact Fund (SBIF) and Small Business Impact Network (SBIN), including reporting.
- Help managing effective relations with donors, external donor agencies, other International Financial Institutions, or other relevant stakeholders, as well as internally by working with several departments (namely Donor Co-Financing, Office of the General Counsel, Funds Accounting, CSE, Technical Cooperation (TC Team);
- Provide support to the negotiations of relevant donor contribution / replenishment / implementation (including financing agreement) / grant agreements with internal teams (i.e. OGC and DCF) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Pro-actively manage and oversee the utilisation of donor funds for the implementation of SBI programs and ensure smooth and efficient resolution of any issues arising from project management or strategy/policy implementation;
- Advise operational teams on the availability of SBI-related donor funds, internal policies affecting the use of such funds, internal procedures and timing to request them;
- Provide ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative inputs into internal and external reports/policy papers, presentations, external publications including the SBIF/SBIN Annual Report and other donor visibility material.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Good relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education (e.g. business administration, economics, finance).
- Relevant work experience, preferably in another International Financial Institution or similar Organisation.
- Good understanding of relevant systems and processes internally (demonstrable experience in the management of documentation and databases).
- Good understanding of the global aid architecture and other developmental assistance, in particular with reference to the SME support agenda.
- Proven experience of data analysis, negotiation and marketing skills.
- Ability to draft documents, reports, position papers.
- Excellent Excel modelling skills.
- Sound decision making and problem resolution skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
