The International Monetary Fund’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) in Tokyo is looking for an OAP economist to support economic and financial monitoring, outreach, and capacity building activities in Japan and other Asian countries in a variety of assignments. This fixed-term position would be ideal for an economist who is interested in learning about careers in an international organization and about the IMF’s work.

The main tasks will be monitoring and analyzing macroeconomic, financial sector, and structural developments; preparing reports and presentations; and assisting in the preparation of seminars and conferences. Opportunities for economic research may also arise.

The salary and benefits would be commensurate with background and experience and will be set with reference to the Japanese domestic market.
