TABLE FOR TWO International (TFT) supports school feeding programs and agricultural programs in East Africa. TFT team makes regular site visits to observe the progress and discuss about challenges and next steps with local staff members of partner organizations. As the number of project sites has increased, TFT is looking for a program officer who monitors the progress of projects, visits project sites and develops reports for internal/external communications.

Responsibilities

• Review project proposals and communicate with partner organizations to improve projects
• Review progress reports from partner organizations and clarify details if necessary
• Regular visit (approx. 3 to 4 times a year. The number of site visits may increase in due course.) to TFT’s project sites in Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. New country may be added over the due course. Project sites are non-warning area or Level 1 according to Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs https://www.anzen.mofa.go.jp/masters/explanation.html
  • Develop an itinerary and coordinate accommodations/transportations for yourself and TFT staff personnel(s) when they join a site visit
  • Draft interview guides, send data request to a partner organization
  • Conduct interviews and collect relevant information/data during the visit
  • Create a site visit report and interview memo. Sort out photos and videos
• Present the progress and discuss challenges in quarterly review meetings
• Draft site reports for external communication
• Conduct a research to find new partner organizations and/or new project topics

• Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science or other field relevant to international development assistance, or Undergraduate Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings
• At least three years of professional experience in a wide variety of development projects, plans and processes, reporting, partnership and coordination with government and other international organizations
• Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to organize work with minimum supervision

Compensation is based on previous experience.

Work location: Remote work based in East Africa (Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania or Uganda). TFT is not responsible for obtaining a working permit.
