Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify chain actors, supporters, and influencers along with their roles and create a value chain map.
  • Explain data such as product volume, number of actors, selling prices, gross margins, and actors' shares.
  • To understand the chain coordination, vulnerabilities, sustainability, information flow, quality, and gender issues.
  • Describe the flow of information within and towards the chain and identify key issues in information systems.
  • Discuss quality characteristics, factors affecting quality, and their relation to food prices.
  • Define micro-economic parameters for agricultural enterprises of value chains.

- This self-paced program offers a flexible learning experience with weekly mini-lectures and interactive discussions.

Course Structure:

- Weekly Modules: Each week focuses on a key aspect of value chain dynamics, delivered through concise and informative mini-lectures.
- Interactive Sessions: Engage with fellow learners through presentations and Q&A sessions on the weekly topic .
- Self-Paced Learning: Learn at your own pace within the flexible weekly timeframe.
- Capstone Project: Conclude the course by creating a [Podcast/Poster/Other Product] that demonstrates your understanding of value chain concepts.

Van Hall Larenstein, University of applied Sciences, Velp, the Netherlands is ranked first as sustainable university and promote sustainable education mainly agricultural and rural development studies to the International mid-career professionals. The main activity is to strengthen the mid-career professionals to understand the rural development theories and make food value chains more understandable by introducing climate smart agriculture and other significant SGD's goals to improve the food quality and quantity. This will promote the development by educating Japanese students to understand the European studies especially the Netherlands approach which is world second largest food exporter.
